Project Overview

South Sands, Salcombe. South Hams:

New roof, loft conversion, internal reconfiguration and a complete external refurbishment.

An exceptionally difficult contract due to access and location

Encased the building in scaffold as the ground floor was to be kept intact and habitable throughout the contract. The whole roof section was removed including two chimney stacks and a new roof structure formed. This included 9 glulam beams. Due to the length and shape of the beams we had considerable issues getting the beams to site and installing them with the use of any mechanical machinery

The external of the groundloor, terrace and dormers were clad in Cape Cod timber from Canada

When finished the new first floor had an additional guest bedroom with ensuite, large master bedroom with ensuite extensive balcony views over South Sands, Salcombe

Phase 1: Removed the complete roof to form a new loft conversion complete with eyebrow dormers, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a separate toilet. Changes to the ground floor layout with a new elliptical staircase. Complete external renovation of the property. The building has been clad in Cape Cod from Canada.

Phase 2: Winter 2018 – Extensive ground floor reconfiguration – New Double Garage

Value: £420,000

Architect: MP2 Design Architects
